There is almost no limit to what cannot be automated to do a sufficient job. Either it’s automated or way we use it changes to accommodate that automation.

On a long enough scale our prospects shrink significantly.

I believe the research into replicators is already under way. NASA funds research to build self-replicating robots in space. I don't know how far they've gotten but I know it's under way now.

You're conflating two separate concepts. AI and machines can outperform humans at mental and physical tasks without negating our own value of life. He's just pointing out reality. That doesn't mean he has any negative emotions toward his own existence.
