Hey, anyone researched or used those grounding sheets you can get for your bed? Benefits or a scam?

Grounding as in electrical ground? Sounds pretty scammy to me. Feet on ground is usually a good path to earth.

To be honest I’m confused by some of the grounding ‘theory’ I’ve heard. I’m my experience electrical charge is pretty efficient at finding its way to ground. Did you ever see slow lightning? Electrons are fast.

Unless you mean something else? Apologies if misunderstood.

Yes that’s what I’m talking about…or they are referring to it as earthing

All this stuff about living in the city and always in shoes and not being ‘grounded’…

We have a little yard at the back of our house with my shed, I often walk to it barefoot, wondering if it’s helping but I’ve no way of telling. I have some good days, some bad but don’t notice any correlation.

Probably a more effective method in the city with no easy access to land, touching a copper water pipe should be enough to discharge any static build up. I’m not sure how a sheet would do it, especially if it has no path to earth itself.

I think they plug into a power socket but don’t draw power

Ah that would make sense with just a conductor on the earth pin. I still think touching a copper pipe would be just as effective.

They claim it goes deeper than the static release…some sort of flow of free electrons which will neutralise free radicals so it’s anti-inflammatory

It's interesting but I must admit I am sceptical just based on the speed at which electrons tend to travel but I can't see it doing any harm... Also the only real info I have to go on, with regards to the benefits, was a single podcast with quite an obscure expert. I'll still walk to the shed barefoot though, it helps cool my feet!

Never heard of it, but your ground pin in a plug just goes to a three or four foot steel or iron pipe next to your house. In times of droughts these fail to ground properly.

GFCI outlets will make sure the neutral and ground are at the same potential. Non GFCI may not, but they should be the same.

In the first house I bought 1/2 of the neutral and hot wires were backwards. I had another house where almost none or the grounds were actually pinned to ground.

Get a circuit tester to see if circuits are correct.

Thank you! Love all of these smart people on here

Your copper water pipe idea is interesting

Ideally I would be swimming in the ocean and not stuck inside most of the day but if you don’t have that kind of lifestyle do the sheets have an upside
