The smoking gun for me was that we "lost" the tech (aka they say it was accidentally deleted) on how to pass through the Van Allen belt's extreme radiation and that's why we never went "back". You can fact-check this, it's true. This seems highly anomalous, and lends credence to the idea it was faked in order to beat the Russians, who we knew for a fact would be equally incapable of landing a person on the moon.
