I was never under the impression that their meats were high quality but I could definitely be wrong. It’s probably a good deal if you don’t have many butcher/rancher options, but a lot of ranchers ship directly now too so you can pick one that you absolutely know how they treat their cows.
Yeah, I would assume it's not the best, but someone very picky about nutrition recommended it to wife and we have a box coming soon. Options limited locally, but if it's a miss I'll consider searching more for ranchers who ship
Yeah I’m sure it’s definitely a step up if you’re in a food desert and only have options like Walmart, or even a big city.
I’m pretty sure they source from smaller ranchers (it’s been years since I’ve looked at them so I can’t remember) but I’d be curious if they tell you where they source the meats so you can look into the specific. I think they source from abroad too which can be sus on what they need to disclose.
Never had the service but when I looked the prices weren't better than I get buying fractional animals.
Yeah, review of pricing wasn't great, nor bad, juuuust right. So I'm wondering if quality will be there (a box was ordered without my approval). Have done fractional animal before, years ago when I lived elsewhere. Didn't love the ranch but it was decent (I wasn't in the heart of Texas exactly, not even close), and second order from same ranch was underwhelming so I stopped. We shall see. Apparently many good ranches ship nowadays, so may do more searching after this box gets consumed
Of course do what you want, but there has to be something decent within 50 to a 100 hundred miles from you. That you can pick up within a 1 hour drive or so. It is nice to go to the farm imo.
