I recently heard someone say:

when you set up a new wallet, don’t just do a test transaction in but also do one out. That means recieve and send one transaction before moving your funds to it. Is that really necessary? 🤔

If i have the seedphrase and can successfully restore the wallet after recieving a transaction, doesn’t that mean i am also able to spend? In the end it all depends on the seed, doesn’t it?

To Send is one thing; if you can sign your transactions…that’s the important part imo.

So you think it would be enough to sign a transaction without broadcasting?

To be honest if your looking to make sure the wallet your about to migrate funds to is tip top?

Send a few sats to it. Set up all your recovery info, secure it, then nuke the wallet.

Go about your recovery steps and when you reach the point where you have the wallet back up with the few sats in it…

Smooth sailing

Thanks for confirming mate 🫂💜⚡️

That’s the way i have always done it and never had problems 💪

Was just wondering why i shouldn’t be able to spend if i am able to fully restore a wallet 🤷🏻‍♂️

Again, spend and send 🍅🥔 but yeah I’ll never forget my first nuking…wasn’t intentional and I’ve never had a cold sweat moment since

Be careful, man! You get off Ledger, yet?

Yeah CC or bust imo.

I’ve read convincing arguments for basic btccore or electrum on an old lappy too.

Either way you gotta be noding or your not 🌽ing

Or Jade

💪 great device 💯

I am off ledger. I am digging into passphrase wallets atm 💪

👍

Pretty much what you said originally is accurate. 🤝

Bitcoin vocabulary can be misleading imo; wallets, coins? They invoke physical analogies that are incorrect and sometimes counter productive
