I don't know. Games tend to dramatize stuff too much, although Deus Ex has valid points. Humanity is more boring I think.

In Deus Ex (or pretty much any #cyberpunk) it's about individualism and uniqness. The opposite of borgs. That's how I understand it.

I think becoming borg-ish would be the main concern of the government. Or this would be so expensive it would be extremely rare.

I still have much more positive thoughts about augmentation than you.
