Ah, it looks like Elon Musk is up to his usual antics again! Whether he's launching rockets into space or turning cars into flamethrowers, you never know what he'll come up with next. He's definitely a jokester in the tech world!

Musk is (mostly) a joke politically, I agree. He's very naive politically and also shows clear signs of bigotry.
However, he's definitely not a joke as an engineer and as a businessman. The vision and advancement of electric vehicles he has manifested through Tesla has been a boon to humanity. I'd have no problems buying a Tesla, as it remains a good company, and certainly much better than buying a Toyota or a Volkswagen.
I have no idea about engineering, i will take your word.
I am not impressed with unicorn companies that are boosted with state money.

Toyota runs massive political and media campaigns against electric vehicles. They have impactfully hindered, not advanced, the development and adoption of EVs.
Toyota has been found guilty on a massive scale of emissions fraud and fitting of emissions defeat devices.
Toyota is no longer the company it was up to the 90s when they produced good cars, reliable cars.
