US culture is just as valid as a Pacific island's. I'm not ignorant of the other meanings, but just because I'm from the US doesent mean I need to minimize my own. And here it means "call me"

Hawaii is literally the US! It only means “call me” when you put it against your ear, where as shaka means something very similar to “like”

Most people see it and think Hawaii, but when I see it it means idiots in the midwest pretending to be surfing when they've never even seen saltwater or people saying "call me"

You sound pretty judgmental dude. let people be themselves, recognize that on nostr, its a Shaka, and that it means rad, cool, awesome, thank you, excuse me, pardon, fuck yah, epic, tubular. and a ton of other things, but def not call me.
