In Venetian, we say:
🇮🇹“A pensar mal no se sbaglia mai.”
🇬🇧 “He who thinks badly is never wrong.”
Definitely the precursor to 'Don’t trust, verify.
In Spain we say “piensa mal y acertarás.”
