Last time I checked, Bitcoin was banned in Morocco. To avoid having any problems, I would advise to check the legal aspects etc..before organizing something.
Discussion
It is. Though I never saw any indication of enforcement. Even then, people gathering in a cafe to discuss a topic is just that, no?
I really don’t know, one part of me tells me that it’s alright, another part tells me that this can be seen from the angle that you are incentivizing people to do something on the borders of legality in Morocco.
There is a coworking space that organizes meetups with entrepreneurs, startups in Casablanca : https://www.newworklab.com/
You can reach out to them, and maybe ask the question ! Or maybe look in meetup (the application) if there were any previous bitcoin meetings in Morocco generally.
Thanks, Amine. Appreciate your perspectives. 🙏🏼
Well, its banned for merchants to accept and settle business in btc.
It’s not illegal to hold Bitcoin.
Generally, the central bank „works“ on anew regulation since a while. Could change the situation, to follow France and open Morocco for „innovation“ and not exclude themselves further from Bitcoin…
To progress!
