I am currently cleaning out old files on various cloud services. Just found a text that I've written in 2017:
"The basic question of man is: What do I need to become better? I need: survival instinct, cleverness, ideas, new techniques.
The newest technology we have is the INTERNET. The Internet is the key to all our knowledge of mankind. The Internet is the unlimited communication all over the world. But what does world mean? The Earth?
Through the Internet, possibilities open up for us that are unimaginable.Every HUMAN BEING IS NETWORKED. That's over 8 billion brains that can be assembled into one. 8 billion brains?
Humans have long since ceased to be an interplanetary civilization. We land on the moon, on Mars, we are the kings of the Milky Way. We have our eyes on tens of millions of planets.Constantly we ask ourselves the same question: Are we alone in the universe?
If we look for co-existent life, then there are exactly 2 possibilities. Either the species is in the development behind us-or it is ahead of us. If we want to find a species that is ahead of us we have to reach it. With the Internet?
The Internet is our all-purpose weapon. We shop on the Internet, secure our house with the Internet, listen to music over the Internet. We build it in everywhere, let it make things easier for us, use it around the clock. We connect with people spread all over the globe. And what if other creatures are just as far along? Creatures we don't yet know exist. Is the Internet the key to new worlds?"
Today I would say: the Internet is just a bunch of protocols that Humanity agreed to use. It is quit impossible that external life forms use the same protocols as we do.
