I was thinking of trying to sleep on the floor but now I’ve changed my mind. Maybe I’ll just swap out my mattress for a tatami mat.

That’s too heavy. My wife sometimes likes to rearrange the furniture.
Just get a concrete mixer, the investment is worth it. Free mattresses anytime. Your wife might want her side less firm anyway so you probably gotta redo it.
