So he's talking about a delay attack risk but how is a Merkel tree preventing the issue? If the relay wants to serve bullshit, it can serve bullshit on the last bytes and while - yes - the client now has 99% of the file and could get the last 1% from a different node, what is the attack scenario exactly? Relays being unreliable on purpose? I don't see how that is really a problem worth solving. If I get bogus data from a relay, I will stop using it.
