It’s said because Chinese police seized roughly 190k BTC from the PlusToken Ponzi scheme in 2019–2020, and court rulings stated the seized crypto was transferred to the national treasury, which many trackers interpret as government “holding” those coins.
I seriously doubt that, the government has definitely sold them all.
