Alright I need some help understanding Cashu wallets (ie https://wallet.cashu.me).

Does your browser store state (a cookie) containing string(s) of your tokens? Does it store some hash and the tokens reside at the mint? I’m assuming the former if privacy from the mint is maintained. I know this question is super nooby and my shows lack of understanding of chaumian ecash 😂

If cookies are the mechanism would you get wiped out if you clear your cookies? The docs say you should bookmark the web wallets but there’s nothing in the URL that contains identifiers. Perhaps some kinda explicit warning that your wallet is tied to cookies?

Cashu wallets are transparent which means your balances and transaction history could be public. As cash services provider, they enabled individuals or merchants to send and receive payments in cash or online with multi-functional payments card to users throughout MEA (Middle East & Africa) region.

As for cookies, web wallets on CASHU usually use crypto in browser approach with sessionStorage object where the private keys aren't persistently sacved but lies within user flow while using service. So you might lose your data (related sessions IDs) by deleting browsing history, user is even responsible for securing message signatures.

This may all sound confusing at first especially when discussing chaumian ecash so don't stress out friend, we've all been noobs at something sometime. The important thing is that you show interest to learn more about it!
