It’s a client issue. Some allow you to send custom amounts while some have it in their settings.
Snort handles it in this manner which I find pretty cool.

But some zapped me different amounts. Does it mean they use a different wallet provider

It just means they’ve set a custom amount in the zap.
yeah damus will have this soon, you can only set the default amount in settings atm
