I've had a hard time trying to talk to family/friends about btc, or just the fiat system and how broken it is. But i'll sometimes mention it, just in passing, in the hopes that even one person will be curious enough to do some research on it. Most of the time it seems hopeless, but maybe my little prompts will help someone in the future. #grownostr

Same, however I’ve noticed people don’t laugh at or insult me anymore. They obviously still have their reservations, but it seems that real conversations are about to start happening.
I hope so. Maybe as times get harder.
I try not to dwell, but I bring it up often. Just to remind people that there is an alternative to the broken systems they're complaining about. It's gotten to a point now where they question me out of curiosity rather than contempt. Idk if that's because of me or the market, but I don't really care. I'm just glad to see my people starting to consider it as a real option and not just that silly thing I'm always going on about.
Its tough, and a little frustrating. But its hard to help people who are not ready.
I feel your pain Maria 💯x. Not sure this the most helpful approach, but I've stopped bringing it up to my fam members a few years ago.
The result of this approach is that it becomes increasingly more difficult to engage with them in most other conversations meaningfully. I.e. grocery bills/inflation, financial advice (do you think Nvidia is a good investment?) the obesity epidemic in our country, and the list of topics that get taken off the table becomes quite extensive the longer you've been on your #BTC journey.
Let me know how you make it out. If I find an approach that works, I'll be sure to share as well.
Thank you. And yes its true, there are a whole host of other topics that are just not on the radar of most people. Sometimes it feels like i'm on a different planet than people around me.
It's hard to communicate successfully. Some of us have been trying for a decade or more.
"Normies" generally don't like being reminded that something is wrong, though it's often the case that the topic is difficult to communicate on without appearing to be a smart-arse.
yes, for me personally it was a random gal who was driving Uber offhandedly said
"I've started looking into investing."
me " oh sounds great"
"so I bought Bitcoin."
I held back laughter but it was a little crack in the armor.
