OK, #Meshtastic people, I am totally stoked...🚀🔥🎇💯😆

Today I got the second of my first two #LoRaWAN devices up and running and configured to talk to the one I got running on Saturday. This one is a Heltec LoRa V3:

I paired it with my Android phone running Graphene, ran the latest Meshtastic app, configured it for the US LoRa band, named it, and left everything else pretty much default.👍

Then I fiddled with the config of the RAK and paired it with an old Android phone, loaded and ran the latest Meshtastic app, configured it for the US LoRa band, named it, and left everything else pretty much default.👍

THEY CONNECTED! YAAAY!!!🎇🙏🏻😆

More news to come...😀💜🫂💖😆

In my excitment, I enlisted my son's help. I made sure neither Android device was connected to the internet; both using only Bluetooth to talk to the #LoRa devices.

He stayed with the #Hitec setup at the house. I walked down to our rural mailbox with the much lower power #RAK setup hanging from my shirt pocket.

The connection was solid there and back.🚀😆

I'm impressed; as the crow flies, separation was more than 160 meters. One unit was indoors. I was using the sub-optimal, omnidirectional antennas that came with the devices...

The #Meshtastic apps and firmware worked brilliantly; next steps are to learn more about configuration and encryption, and look into sending some #Cashu #eCash over the mesh.😆💖🎇

We need someone to develop a way to broadcast transactions using these things.
