I still agree with this. I also genuinely think they would be helpful inside of Reddit style communities. Or like nostr-based tech support forum but I think that goes along with the rep system that you were mentioning. (Ie A user gets a bunch of upvotes on a various number of posts for being helpful so they get a badge saying that they're not a total doofus or something.)
