American politicians are incentivized to continue passing the buck on eventual economic collapse. Hard, necessary things are not popular in elections. But at some point, the buck has to stop with someone (or some regime) at a certain time and place.

When I was a kid, I went on a field trip and got to visit the Madison office of Senator Herb Kohl, long-time US Senator from Wisconsin and owner of the Milwaukee Bucks. On his desk, he had a plaque that read “The Bucks Stop Here.”
