Anyone know Does all the new fancy photo stuff that was just announced work on device? Or does it need to connect to Google to work? Also are these features back ported to old Pixels? Anyone know?

Asking for someone running GrapheneOS with Google camera network access blocked.

Many of those features are in device. The only one that is a clear cloud feature is the video boost thing

This is correct I'm testing it out now.

The colorful button on bottom left is for video boost or doing ai stuff like changing sky to sunset etc that is all cloud related stuff and would need internet connection and cloud.

Magic eraser, best take, unblur etc doesn't need internet connection.

Make sure to keep google services on in the sandbox because I just tried without it and half those features crash without it. Can disable it after doing your edits.

Are you able to use the pixel camera without Google photos on grapheneos?

I think so but you just can't open the preview in Google camera without google photos. Install both and cut internet connection for both is what I did.

I have always just used the GrapheneOS camera, but your idea of using the Google camera with network revoked is a good idea!

I already have that for Gboard (only decent keyboard with slide typing in multiple languages), but I'll do the same for the camera and see how that works out! Thanks bud!

How do you even get gboard on GOS? I tried on Aurora store butitt doesn't install.

Not sure. That's how I did it, on Aurora. That is CalyxOS though with MicroG

not sure what to tell you.. I installed it from aurora on my GrapheneOS. First on my Pixel 5, then on my 7a, both without issue

I tried it a few times but for some reason after I push the install button it says "GETTING METADATA"anfd nothing happens.

Update Aurora to latest. Clear all downloads via the 3 dots menu in top right corner. Force close aurora. Relaunch Aurora and try to install Gboard again.

Thanks that worked
