No, talking politics with friends can be okay. Just make sure they're not max-normies.

Wait until you hear what I think about germ theory πŸ˜‚

Do tell, please.

I think it’s bullshit. People aren’t contagious and it has never been proven with strong evidence. The government pushed it hard. Reading a book on it right now and will post about it soon.

What's the title?

Can you catch a cold?

I'll check it out. Whatever happened to reading physical books? Reading an e-book just doesn't have the same impact.

Who told you I was reading an ebook?

Lol nah, I was assuming you aren't. Most people do seem to read e-books or listen to audiobooks these days, but they just don't seem to have as meaningful an impact, imo.

I feel you. Ebooks are hella convenient because you can highlight things and then use the search to look things up later. Books feel great though but everyone is different. I have to write in my books.

Physical books have been the primary source of info throught most of my teens and twenties. I guess I just have a more emotional attachment to them. That and I love having a physical library over an online one.

I used to have a massive library but being in Bitcoin taught me that securing your property in digital form is superior to physical. If I need to get the fuck out of this city, most books are getting left behind.

That's a good point. But... I have quite a few collectibles in my library. Ebooks may be better in terms of security but they'll never hold the same level of value.

eBooks are also great when you explicitly do not want to support the author

Fuck if Im buying Alex Karps book lmao

I should also add that you don't own it if you just bought it for your kindle. They can just take that away from you. Use a real ereader app that you own the content on.

Never actually used an ereader app until recently because the book is in mobi format (i usually just get pdf), but Im liking Calibre

A lot of different options out there but a lot of them aren't great or private. I really like ReadEra.
