That the law will form around groups vs the individial is why that scenario scares the shit out of me. Mob justice rarely affords an outsider a fair trial.

but mobs will always form, like the various tribes that are hot at each other's necks currently. opting out of the new cult of personality is what gives the individual his meaning: without choice we are forced to belong, to forfeit new alliances with others and with different versions of ourselves, we are slaves.
