notedeck doesn’t trust anything from relays by design

Ok let's call it render the notes in the order provided by the relay

notedeck only queries the local embedded relay, if relays try to mess with order or inject notes/ads it won't work

I did this out of experience with buggy relays, this eliminates that whole vector of issues

Should still get a reasonably good experience just some of the magic will be gone, looking forward to it either way

specific ordering of notes should probably be in the form of a list?

That’s what I thought, a NIP-51 list with the order of the events and the user has to choose which pubkey is trusted to produce that list.

Hmmm like a nip51, this is potentially doable, I didn't like this approach because now I have a new event everytime the user refreshes the feed, felt kind of bloaty

this is just a dvm right? request list from relay and populate a column.

It's not a dvm, it just takes a regular req like any other relay, but notes are not returned in chronological order and it only returns kind 1

I can't see this working other than creating a quote event from the algo relay with the order you'd like to see.
