Yesterday, two U.S. AV-8B Harrier II fighter jets flew over Guyana during the inauguration ceremony of President Irfaan Ali, in a clear show of support for the country’s independence, which is threatened by the expansionism of dictator Nicolás Maduro. Last year, Maduro unilaterally annexed—only on paper, without international recognition—the Essequibo region, even going so far as to personally appoint a Venezuelan governor for the territory.

Ironically, one of Maduro’s main talking points is the “fight against imperialism,” even as he seeks to invade and annex land that does not belong to him.

Invade land that doesn’t belong to Maduro, isn’t the US doing the same 🤔 not to speak about overthrowing governments 🤔
