Do you guys know anything about the Masonic Veiled Prophet ball that happens in St. Louis every year?

No, but I'm curious about it. #asknostr

As a Mason, this event was not connected to freemasonry

Just a group of wealthy men that started the group "The Veiled Prophet Organization". Almost all were St. Louis businessmen, civil & govt. leaders. ~1878 or so

it runs pretty deep here.

Very interesting

they actually promote themselves as masons though so i’m unsure why they do that if it’s not connected

Wouldn't be surprised that there are some members, who are also masons.

I'll give you a dirty little secret; the Free & Accepted Masons today are not what they used to be. Unfortunately, we are not the illuminati (that was actually a short-lived group, founded after masonry, by a guy that wasn't allowed in the masons and he was upset)

We do not "run the world" like its portrayed

- everyone is ~80 yo+ (I'm an infant to these guys) on an a fixed income, & bitch when dues have to go up by $5/yr.

- 99% of lodges can barely pay our lodge bills, which only cost ~$6k-$12k/yr.

Beautiful organization with its principles, rich history, focusing on self-improvement & helping community

Absolute embarrassment in practice today as of 2025

oh 100%, we have a lot of free masons in stl that do a lot for the community still

Yep very disturbing history

yes
