i've now met two guys who have told the following story:
"after failing to get laid by being honest, i started lying to women about my status. fucked up as it is, it works."
these two guys were encountered years apart and have never met. they didn't have any resources so they took to lying instead.
you'd think that in Scandinavia, land of gender equality, a man wouldn't need to impress a woman in such a way. that's what i used to think anyway. but seeing as this old trick of lying about your wealth and status to get laid is just as effective here as it is anywhere else, it's obvious that same old gender roles unofficially continue to exist.
