FACT. Was talking about this very issue with my wife while making dinner tonight. A very real concern.

Documenting the process is very important regardless of your (anyone) situation, including yourself should you ever suffer memory loss...or have a yachting accident. This applies to accessing satoshis stored on the Bitcoin mainnet or on Layer 2, whether single-sig or multi-sig is used with software or hardware wallets or even just an encrypted file containing the seedphrase (and potentially the passphrase) for the wallet. Perhaps provide a detailed step-by-step set of instructions demonstrating the process for a wallet containing a small amount of satoshis, allowing the designated person a low-risk opportunity to practice before touching the "real money." Oh wait! The 21 sats inheritance plan by @BitcoinCitadel has you covered.
