For BTC to become the main monetary system of the world, it needs to reach a value so high that all the BTCs put together are worth at least as much as the national wealth of all the countries in existence. After achieving this, a set of regulations must be created so that BTC would never fall under that price which would become the initial and the lowest value BTC would ever reach from that point forward.
