I predict unfollowing and muting people who use unnecessarily complicated and niche vocabulary when communicating with the rest of the world.
I had to look it up too... "A double precision floating point number is a data format used in computing to represent real numbers". Maybe it's just some programming humor.
It was a way for an elitist asshat to make himself feel superior for using a term very few people understand in a way that forces people to either remain ignorant of the term or waste their time trying to understand the failed attempt at humor.
