Interesting, that's the first I've ever heard of it. Im not sure I would consider it identical. Seems to me the biggest similarity is the layout which seems very generic to most messaging apps.

My inspiration mostly comes from Apple's mail/iMessage and a smidge of telegram. ie: the patterned background in the message area 😃
