The one thing I regret about adopting a teenager instead of having my own child is the experience of only giving them retro computers at least until middle, if not high school.
No child should be deprived the joy of Congo Bongo or learning that code, not Robux, is what makes computers do things.
Very awesome that you adopted a teenager though- so many great kids that need good homes π
Yea, my wife works with behavioral kids and we figured we both somewhat resonated more with teenagers than chasing little ones around.
I did nanny for a friend's kid for awhile too, and while it wasn't so bad, it helped that I did the overnight shifts and got to sleep during the day. Not sure how parents without assistance tackle the sleep deprivation -- it's brutal to be expected to be responsible for important things and not able to sleep.
Not surprising that people who can't make one income work are just choosing not to breed. Not sure if that's by Malthusian design or just an accident of the fiat system (or if the fiat system itself is by Malthusian design -- not entirely unlikely) but the results are the same.
