I think if you’re already a developer, then Windows is excellent, but myself I spent years trying to get a dev environment set up in my free time, and I would always get hung up. The barriers to entry on macOS are lower imo, with the Linux style terminal being built in. Also, there is rudimentary but powerful “programming” on iPhone with the Shortcuts app.
I found the combination of the two able to greatly accelerate my technical skills in a short time.
