The US government says that the only reason to use end to end encryption is because you are trying to hide a crime.

The US government used an end to end encrypted encrypted messenger to plan military strikes.

That is an admission by the parties involved that they knew the military strike in question was a crime.

A crime committed as a military strike is a war crime.

Seems like a slam dunk to me.
