for years, literally 2 decades, i thought i simply had IBS, which my mother also seemed to have
but then i learned that an allergic rash i get from time to time is a common comorbidity with celiac, and i could easily recognise it when it was happening recently it almost always followed up after eating wheat
was a bummer cos i was loving my hamburger sammiches, but yes, gluten causes a person with celiac, which is an immune disorder of the intestinal membranes involving immunoglobulin-A that causes... yes, increased motility, and antibodies that attack several other parts of the body in response, the dermatitis herpeteformis is one of the places, it can also cause problems with the lungs (i get "allergic asthma" which was dx'd as bronchial asthma as a child) i used to get motion sickness a lot, probably also another symptom, and motion sickness and potassium deficiency are related, as are the muscle weakness and all that shit
so, probably at the root is celiac, and secondary is all the things i've developed the habit of doing to mitigate the worst of it that has caused its own problems
the pains i get in my kidneys are quite nasty... but i've discovered positively that simply drinking a lot of water is helping a lot... i drank a LOT last night, to the point where i felt like there was an overall increase of pressure all over my skin, like my joints had fluid around them and stuff... maybe i did too much water but more is better than less, so long as it doesn't spill over into my lungs :)
