There can be big gaps between unspent proofs (tokens) where no change existed before.

How are noobs expected to understand gap limits? I was told restoring a wallet was a foolproof process that works every time.
They never will
You get one chance with people, and if they think theyāve been rugged, they wonāt come back. I still run into people all the time who are convinced Lightning is a scam because they had sats on BlueWallet before April 2023 and they went back to withdraw them and couldnāt, because the node had been taken down.
