Replying to Avatar Bohemia

I used wood glue to repair a bit that had fallen off of this hand carved mirror that has been in my family since at least 1830.

One day, I will restore it to its original wood finish, but that will take some time, I think. Probably have to sand by hand? I have never restored wood, but I wouldn't do this with a machine. Paint stripper then sand?

You can get away with light use of a Dremel and some sanding drums. And maybe some steel brushes for the dremel. Sand the big faces by hand and use the dermal to hit the nooks and crannies after some light paint stripping.
