I've heard a lot of Christian's say things like, "less of me and more of God", and "not what I want, but what God wants".

They say this as if what they dream of or desire is all bad, but I'm pretty sure they haven't really thought about it.

The reality is that God put the desires in our hearts. We are made in the image of God. If even bad man wants good for his children, how much more wouldn't God the Father? This indicates that those who don't even know God already wants some good, at least for their own kids.

We are a new creation as soon as we accept Jesus and Lord and Savior in our hearts and confess that he is with our mouths. We are no longer sinners, but saints, one with Christ.

So, if you have ever struggled with the idea that what you want is bad, I'd suggest taking some time to write down 25-50 of your dreams, and then look at them. What are they actually? Do you want dysfunction and debauchery, or do you want good things? My guess is that you actually do want good things, and if so, I humbly suggest stop listening to the devil telling you that you're nothing, and start listening to God who thinks you're worth giving His life for!

Today at Mass, Father mentioned it was the commemoration of Blessed Anna of the Angels, a 17th century Spanish nun &mystic in Peru.

Her motto was, ‘I must drcrease that Christ may increase’.

I think it is meant in the sense of the dying of our desires (even good ones), and surrendering to God’s will. In a sacrificial way.
