I invite people to do keyword search for their favorite influencers (Odell, etc) at 3 locations:

1. Your fav major client, like Primal

2. nostr.world, which uses personalized PageRank

3. NymRank.dev — make sure to change the WoT selector to the one with “default” or “restrictive” settings. (We use different GrapeRank settings and the params make a big difference. “Permissive” settings are too permissive!)

What do you see? Top result will be who you’re looking for, BUT you will see impersonators.

1. Lots of impersonators at Primal (depending on the account)

2. fewer impersonators at npub.world bc personalized PageRank is useful. But still some impersonators bc pPR is not foolproof.

3. No impersonators at NymRank bc it uses GrapeRank which ingests follows, mutes, and reports to create an extremely effective trust metric.

Yep, the impersonators that show under permissive only show up to be adjacent for comparison... in an API setting only the real Odell would show as that's the account occupying the name.

I say permissive are too permissive but that probably isn’t a fair statement. It depends on the use case! For yours, permissive may work better. This is what’s great about personalization of GrapeRank; you use the parameters that work for you, no need to ask permission!

Yep, I think it's just a few tweaks away from accommodating breadth. Biggest limiter may be current nostr event kinds.

Things like invitations and receipts in a commercial setting will really boost signal.

You mean working extra inputs into the graperank score? I’m def looking forward to being able to do that. Or maybe I should say creating multiple graperank scores with a wide range of input options, and you can select which one(s) you find the most useful.
