⚡️🇪🇹🇪🇷 NEW - Channel 4 reports on a “looming war” between Ethiopia and Eritrea driven by Ethiopia’s demand for access to the Red Sea via the Eritrean port of Assab. The dispute threatens to unravel the 2018 peace agreement that ended their long war, for which Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was later awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), which previously fought against the Ethiopian government with Eritrean support, is now aligned with the Fano militia and Eritrea against the Ethiopian state.

A new force, the Tigray Peace Force, made up of former TPLF fighters who say they were betrayed by their leadership, has emerged and switched sides to support the Ethiopian government. Interviews with their fighters and leadership from Channel 4 News below.
