I’m the only one who opted out of the biometric scanning (which is then associated with my passport) as I’m boarding my international flight.

People just do as they are told. No thinking. No assertion of the right to opt out (was easy)… It’s sad tbh.

Anyway byeee 👋

What’s the biometric scanning they do?

No matter what, they check your passport and your boarding pass, but the biometric scanning is this rectangle thing that scans your face. I presume this is to make sure you are really the person in the passport but I don’t trust it. So I opted out because I don’t know and I don’t care and I am me and fuck this shit. 🫡

Didn’t know I could opt out of the face scanning.

This is true in US?

Yes! I always just assume I have rights and assert them until they are directly oppressed.

Me: I can opt out of this, correct?

Them: Sure, no problem.

Wasn’t even a thing.

I've opted out of the "easy" security body scanners, for almost two decades now. Never been in one.

I make them stop what they're doing, disrupt their flow and frisk me.
