I'm biased that I like to design my own stuff. But, the precursor got my attention because the keyboard is available separately and sold on mouser. I don't really want to design and manufacture the plastic keys for a keyboard.

The current plan is to build a similar device using the precursor keyboard, a more powerful MCU, but less total chips, limit I/O, and make a software that is small enough to be auditable.

I'm sort of lazy so who knows, but I just ordered some eval boards to play with.
