When your friend (in physical or digital world, or both of them) has a good reputation in digital world, for instance Slush, and he writes "hey, this man Stallion is my good friend, trust him, follow him and take his ideas seriously", this could be the way. I saw this scenario previously on nostr as well.

Thanks for commenting. Yeah that is of course great option, and great example, but in that case you need to leak connection between physical and digital identity to at least couple of friends to transfer the reputation.

More and more thinking about this it seems to me that it is a problem of an egg and hen, who was first...

Correct 🤝 And then there is another aspect that only few people can fool their own psyche and sooner or later feel the need for people to know that it is they who appear under a particular anonymous profile 😉🤔

The only way I can think of to transfer a good reputation from the physical, non-anonymous world to the anonymous online one, while minimizing the effort to build it and without having to reveal my anonymity to even a limited group of people, is to maintain and use the same natural behavior and attitude that brought me a good reputation in the digital world. Naturalness will ensure that my efforts are minimized and if it is respectful in the physical world, it will be successful in the online environment.

By the way I think this is the reason why a lot of people choose not to be fully anonymous. Of course there are other reasons as well, but this one plays important role where they think will need their reputation.

I agree with that.
