Not being able to calculate the network fee on Lightning is a huge UX problem and an absolute pain.
I don’t mind too much, but others will abandon for such simple reasons.
For example, I have 246,404 in my LN wallet on Aqua. I want to w/d this amount to Zeus/Node, but I don’t know how much to create the invoice for.
I don’t want to leave dust in AQUA…those are MY SATS!
Instead, I generate for the full amount and instead of adjusting down and sending, I just get a payment failure. 
Yeah, that sucks... Imagine in the future remembering that f******g custodial wallet that didn't let you withdraw some sats because of "potential fees".
I agree with this, I think that's why centralized nodes will work best for the new to lighting & Bitcoin.
The node runners are fringe cases that are operating at the “bank” level of trasfer. Such fees can be understood/ accepted by higher level understanding.
While the Average individual will use a custodian which will limit dust or fees.
Yup sucks been there my friend just adjust for the 300 sats fee send what you can before you can’t I’ve lost so many sats to the Learning Curve University
Technically #Aqua is a #Liquid wallet. You can try to send the full amount from your spending account to another Loquid wallet. That might help you get more out.
maybe bolt12 as universal invoice will be useful in situations like this🤔
I get it wrong, sorry. the problem is unknown fee when sending all balance. sure we need improved fee counting, until then there will be dust management
We can work on that. It’s always hard to empty a LN wallet without channel close. I had the same problem with others before and just had to leave a few sats in there. With AQUA though, it is a Liquid balance, so you can always swap that out to BTC or just withdraw the L-BTC itself.
I hold liquid bitcoin with the Blockstream Green wallet and a Jade signer to keep the keys cold. I move liquid bitcoin to and from this cold wallet to maintain a spending balance in the Aqua hot wallet. Cold liquid bitcoin balance maintained by creating/destroying mainchain utxos as needed with boltz.
