OK got my BitAxe miner running. The strata url configuration entry is just the hostname not an actual strata url notation. Getting about 350GH/s for 15 watts of power. Have only been able to connect to public-pool.io couldn't get nicehash to work. So for now just solo mining.

What was the total cost of the miner? Hardware, power supply, etc.

Got mine last month for $167 usd from d-central (3 week backorder). It looks to have gone up in price. Or I got discounts for paying in btc.

I run an Antminer S9 with only one board for solomining. Have replaced fans so that the miner is very quiet. It does 1.2 TH/s and consumes 120 watts. The miner + silent fans cost me 200€.

Sounds nice. I've been wondering why the wattage requirements seem to differ so much to the bitaxe. Like 4 of those would be ~90 watts. If I'm not mistaken is the same chip. Anyhow while I'm fine with electronics I'm uncertain about mining. I did bitcoin mining early days 2012 but didnt stick to it and wiped my drive a few months later (lack of foresight). I don't think about that too much. I started gpu and cpu mining back in 2017 with nicehash. That was actually profitable for me but I stopped early 2020. Now I'm back and can't figure of 4 of those bitaxe at 90w would be better than one S9 at 120watts. Anyway it's all a journey.

The power supply alone consumes 25 watts 🔌
