Updated my T-Deck #meshtastic firmware to a version with the new UI. Looks nice and should make it much more usable as a standalone device without needing the phone app but it still seems a bit buggy. Already managed to get it into a state where the trackball and keyboard stopped responding and it needed to be power cycled..

This thing looks awesome 👀

are you using it regularly? I find myself not using my T-Echo very often, as there sre absolutely no peers in my area. I got one for my brother, but he lives to far away. It's a shame, the devices are really fun to use 🤠🤙

I haven’t been using the T-Deck much so far but I have a permanent node at home and another mobile node that I use more often. We have a few people that have formed a Meshtastic community here and have been deploying nodes around the city where I live so it does get some use. Mostly we have just been experimenting so far and trying to get some sort of good coverage rather than using it for anything serious.

Permanent nodes seem to be a good idea, i could install some at some relatives houses 🤓 just in case the internet goes down 🌝

Yeah I’ve got one at my house and I put one at my mum’s house although that was mainly because she lives on the side of a hill that overlooks the city so was a good location for a routing node.

Did you get the bt to work?

i just cant get it enabled via cli..

Yeah it works for me. It’s been a while since I first set the t-deck up but I don’t think I had any issues enabling it.

Hmm, for me bt works with the regular firmware but with the fancy firmware it doesnt.. what version are you running?

Actually seems I am wrong.. I thought I had connected via bt after upgrading but I mustn’t have as I just tried again and it doesn’t work. So yeah looks like an issue with the fancy ui firmware.
