it cannot be used with hardware wallet. You should still use it. You can connect to it wtih a hardware wallet third party app like sparrowwallet.com

yes but you need alot of storage, approx 1TB on a dedicated device.

not a good idea to put it on your daily phone, i will reduce the life of it.

its better to run it on a PC and connect to it from a mobile wallet that supports connecting to your own node like electrum wallet or Sentinel by Samourai for Android. Ideally Sparrow Wallet on PC.
