It's certainly a very grabbing story that gives us food for thoughts. I'd recommend putting this on your wishlist and then grab it the next time it goes on sale.

I might do that, currently saving for a Steam Deck though so my Christmas sale purchases will be minimal this year haha
I was considering a Steam deck until I saw the ROG Ally handheld. The first model is relatively cheap now and has better components than the Steam deck. A friend of mine also opened up a Steam deck to replace the battery and he said it just contains cheap shit clued in. Take a look at the ROG for comparison before committing to the deck.
I've looked into various handhelds, I think all of them have their upsides and downsides. Problem with the Ally is that it runs proprietary slopware (Windows 11) and is not friendly to right to repair in the way the Deck is. I also trust Valve a heck of a lot more than Asus, which has a bit of a history of being quite anti-consumer. If I had the money, I'd buy a Deck, Ally and Legion Go but as it stands, I personally think the Deck is the best overall deal and it aligns with pro-freedom values the most of those three.
Thanks for sharing your insight.
