America has lost its empathy. This was something nostr:npub1xeejes6lu4scttcmzytq5wfad3e6rljpmhc3snqs89xz3jjavfasnuz3mx said in his interview I linked earlier. Could not agree more. US has been very short sighted with the tariff policies - especially to Japan. Instead of helping out your allies, somehow the current admin decided it’s better to harm your friend’s economy even further. Talk about short term thinking. US is already doing a great job at driving the rest of the world to China, I hope Japan doesn’t follow. Why do we feel the need to throw everyone under the bus for a quick win? Where is the long term strategic thinking?

European consumers pay 0 tax on American products while Americans pay 15% on European products.

Looks like a great deal for Europeans tbh.

How is it a great deal for Europeans if their businesses are uncompetitive in the US market?

I’m talking about european consumers. Our tax burden got actually reduced.

For European consumers buying US made products while destroying European export business.

How tf is that a good deal for Europeans?

Europe is completely f’d by its own hand anyway, the trade agreement with the US is just the nail in the coffin.

Aren’t they buying US energy though? And I doubt 0 is correct … source?

We buy energy in any case, but thats a different topic.
