Thought Experiment:

What if it comes out tomorrow that Nayib Bukiele has been continuously depositing state owned BTC on his wallet and has fled the country. What’s the chance that he’s doing it and we’ll never find out?

I’m not saying this is likely but have you ever seem an audit or anything? He’s openly admitted to buying state held Bitcoin on Robinhood which seems odd.

A lot of Bitcoiners probably didn’t love SBF for his shitcoinery but still tolerated because he was deemed net positive for Bitcoin. Very few probably expected anything like what did unravel to unravel?

If the Bukiele story came true what would it mean for Bitcoin? Nothing, tick tock, next block.

But because we have so naively celebrated a guy who turned out to be a crook it would have vast negative effects on Bitcoiners’ credibility and our cause.

Again, I don’t think any of this is likely but we should be more careful with blind praise for someone about whom we actually know very little, just because he appears to be pro BTC.
